Adolescence is an important period in everybody’s life. If a man gets into an excellent environment and improvises himself during this age, then he can reach great heights. Whereas, if an adolescent faces tough situation during this period, it will greatly affect his self esteem. Young people who are in their adolescent age are very sensitive and any negative criticism will reduce their self esteem. The environment surrounding adolescent people is a highly influential factor on self esteem.

People who are addicted either with disease or any other intoxicated substance like drugs, alcohol or any other psychiatric disorders; they need to face problems in their lives in future like health/medical problems, legal problems, relationship problems, or the employment problem. Those people who are addicted for them it is very difficult to overcome from it. They are so much addicted toward these addictions that they do have control over their mind about what they are doing and involved in.

In CASA’s (National Center for Addiction & Substance Abuse at Columbia University) 2009 National Survey of American Attitudes on Substance Abuse XIV: Teens and Parents, nearly one if five teens reported that they are able to get prescription drugs (in order to get high) in one hour, and more than one third of teens surveyed reported that they could get prescription drugs within a day. Add to that the 2008 findings reported through the University of Michigan’s study on teen drug use showing that 9.7 % of 12 graders had used Vicodin for other than prescribed use, and 4.7% had used Oxycontin. The growing trend is alarming on many levels.
