We understand folks being concerned with going to adolescent treatment centers in Los Angeles right now. In our area, the “second wave” of COVID-19 may not have come, but only because it seems the first wave never stopped. Doing what you can to keep you and your family safe is of paramount importance. That’s why we’ve done everything in our power to make Insight Treatment as safe as possible. The doors here are open. They’ll remain that way as long as we are allowed.
The Importance of In-Person Treatment
Adolescent treatment centers provide much beyond just helping teenagers with drug and alcohol issues. We provide real resources for teenagers as well as their families, such as education, socializing, and much more. Our facilities are places where teenagers can feel welcome and safe no matter what. These are just some of the many reasons that we have never closed our doors nor will we do so unless forced. We take great pride in serving our community, and it’s a responsibility as well as an honor to be there for the community.
Making Our Adolescent Treatment Centers in Los Angeles Safer
All of that said, for our centers to be a place where teens can be safe, it’s incumbent upon us to make sure that teens are actually safe here. To that end, we follow any and all recommendations by medical professionals in regards to COVID-19 management. That means cleaning, disinfecting, social distancing, all of it. The truth is that no one is going to be able to focus on drug and alcohol-related issues if they’re worried about catching COVID-19. By providing a safe, clean environment, we give teenagers as well as their families a way to grow and thrive.
Telehealth Options Available
We understand that there are families who, unfortunately, are unable to attend in-person sessions for various health reasons. That’s perfectly understandable. “Being there for the community” means more than simply keeping our doors open. To that end, we have begun the process of integrating remote Telehealth options. We see this as one more way that we can help, one more way that we can be of service.
Help is Available
Even with a pandemic, here at Insight Treatment, we’re committed to providing the same level of care that we always did. However, we have made some adjustments and accommodations. For example, group and other therapy sessions are now held outside. Essentially every study has shown that being outdoors in groups, properly socially distanced and wearing masks is much, much safer than being indoors. That said, just because we’ve made those changes, that does not make our therapy and other treatments any less effective.
