Teen suicide rates have risen these past few years, and the third most common reason for teenage death is suicide.
Benjamin speaks from experience as he is also a suicide survivor and a recovering drug and alcohol addict. He is on the board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Program.
Benjamin advocates for government policies and dedicates his life to serving others with suicidal tendencies, addiction and mental health issues.
Frederick and Benjamin also speak on the gravity of secrets teens keep from their parents about their depression. Benjamin says kids hide their problems so they don’t have to put a heavy burden on their parents or be a burden themselves.
