Insight Treatment Hour – Family Therapy – January 24, 2022

On this episode of Insight Treatment Hour, our host Frederik Schulin talks with his guest, Sean A Coe LCSW on the show to talk about family therapy. Frederik starts off the show by talking with Sean about family therapy and how that can help teens with their mental health. Sean happens to be a local therapist in Santa Clarita and helps all families deal with any mental issues going on in the house.

Later in the show, Frederik and Sean continue to talk more about mental health stories.

Juggling The Hats Of Parenthood

Oftentimes, parents feel like they are a circus act, complete with the lions, plates, and fire.
Switching from role to role is a tough nut to crack, especially when parenting a teen through their transitional years.
One resource option is to seek out professional advice on how to not only survive this time, but also have a healthy relationship with your teen.
With the constant interruptions and distractions of life, not to mention social media, getting a teen to open up can be hard. Finding the right situations to broach hard subjects or simply make conversation is a difficult task.

Insight Treatment Hour Podcast on KHTS Radio

Insight Treatment Program hosts a weekly show on KHTS radio to talk to parents and teens about mental health and navigating the hard, confusing teenage years. Led by Insight Treatment’s CEO Frederik Schulin, this week is joined by local Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and therapist Sean Coe.
Insight Treatment Center is a local Santa Clarita intensive outpatient treatment center for teens and their families battling mental health issues, disconnection, addiction, and more.
A place centered on healing in the whole family and the creation of a community focused on healing together, Insight Treatment and their team want to help guide families to reconciliation and connection.
Parents have to juggle many roles and responsibilities. Teacher, nurse, police officer, personal assistant, cook, focused employee, disciplined parent, friend parent, spouse, and more.
In the busy-ness of everyday life, it can be hard to know which hat to wear when and how to foster a trusting, open relationship with a teen that just seems to pull away.
Oftentimes, a little professional advice and new habits are all your family needs to see drastic change. Learning when and how to connect with your kids, how to set and enforce healthy boundaries, how to manage and express expectations, as well as counsel for your teen on how to express their feelings and learning a little bit of perspective.
